Looking back, I’ve made a lot of commitments to myself. All were conceived in good spirit. Sometime you just have to admit to yourself that a course correction is in your best interests. You’d think my updated habits would have stuck with me. I fully admit, most have not.
The tradition of the New Year’s Resolution never appealed to me. Celebrating an arbitrary date in the beginning of the sleepy season with a command of thou shalt modify thy behavior patterns is the wrong mood at the wrong time.
Spring Resolutions
I prefer to make spring resolutions. Spring is the season of rejuvenation. The snow melts (usually). The birds return. The animals come out of hibernation … and so do I.
This spring was a bust for that as well as the world practically ended and is only now starting to come back to life … hopefully.
Where’s the Boat?
In the before times, I made a claim that I would have a boat by 40 and if a husband happened to show up, all the better. Well, the husband showed up, but the boat turned into a house.
Husband took all the time. House took all the money. Work took all the effort.
Aren’t you just making excuses?
Yup.
The path forward …
Double down, reinvigorate, and get things done. More on that in the coming weeks!
